Bio
Maude Fortier is a talented young saxophonist who has made her mark on the Montreal jazz scene. A graduate of McGill University with distinction, she has worked under the direction of Camille Thurman, Jean-Michel Pilc, Rémi Bolduc, Frank Lozano and Darrell Green.
In addition to being a sought-after accompanist in many prestigious venues in the metropolis, such as Le Balcon, Upstairs, and Dièse Onze, Maude has been performing with her quartet for four years and has also organized jam sessions at the cocktail bar Le Bureau in Griffintown, near downtown Montreal. In recent years, she has performed with renowned musicians such as Ira Coleman, Darrell Green, and Kevin Dean. She was recently honored with a mention in Downbeat magazine for her performance with the McGill Vocal Jazz Conglomerate. Maude's musical style is inspired by the jazz tradition mixed with modern musical influences.
