Bio

Maude Fortier is a talented young saxophonist who has made her mark on the Montreal jazz scene. A graduate of McGill University with distinction, she has worked under the direction of Camille Thurman, Jean-Michel Pilc, Rémi Bolduc, Frank Lozano and Darrell Green.

In addition to being a sought-after accompanist at many of the city's prestigious venues, Maude has been performing with her quartet for the past four years, and has set up jam sessions at two Montreal bars, Bar Majesthé in downtown Montreal and Le Bureau in the Old Port. In recent years, she has performed with such renowned musicians as Ira Coleman, Darrell Green and Kevin Dean. She was recently featured in Downbeat magazine for her performance with the McGill Vocal Jazz Conglomerate. Maude's musical style is inspired by the jazz tradition, blended with modern musical influences.
